About the book

Steve Moon was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and is the youngest of 6 children. Steve was the apple of his mom’s eye and the life of the party. He bravely served our country as a member of the US Army and eventually followed his passion for service into the law enforcement industry. He obtained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Through his various positions in law enforcement, and his 20 years of faithful service with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office, Steve has been able to make a difference in his community with compassion, patience and encouragement. When he’s not serving the City of Norfolk, he continues to make a difference by providing free lawn care services to elderly people in his community and providing free back to school haircuts to those in need. He has recently been awarded the 2021 Making Marriage Work Award for his countless efforts to aid in his wife’s recovery after a life threatening illness. When he’s not serving in his community you can find him at a local fishing hole hoping to catch dinner! Steve considers his greatest accomplishments to be his long term marriage to Dedra, their three amazing sons Malik, Jalen and Kyle and their two adorable granddaughters, Alani and Raelynn. When you are in Steve’s presence you can expect great stories and nonstop laughs; he considers laughter as his love language and food for the soul.
